Eating Right

Okay, so now that I am all booked for Panama I am newly motivated to eat better and hopefully lose some weight.  My biggest challenge is snacks.  I don't tend to eat between meals (and often skip meals altogether) and this obviously is not working for me!  Does anyone have any suggestions for healthy snacks?  If I have to resort to carrot and celery sticks every time, this endeavour will be an epic fail!

And, because fabric diets have no calories...some fabric love:

  1. Almonds, apple slices with peanut butter, baked sweet potato fries, or dried fruit mix. I'm not the best with heathy snacks, that's the best I can come up with!

  2. Low fat vanilla yogurt with frozen or fresh fruit. Or you can make a smoothie using the frozen yogurt, fruit and ice. Both are very good. Salads are usually at the top of my list. I love them!

  3. nuts are usually good, and fruits with low glycemic index (http://www.glycemicguru.com/glycemic-index-list.html), low fat yogurt. and celery is always good, they have like negative calories because there's so much fiber you'll burn calories just digesting it, lol! oh and if you love chocolate, dark chocolates are also good (counter intuitive but it's true, the darker and purer the chocolate means there's less fat or milk content in it)!

  5. Is you like salty, have you tried seaweed snacks? Low calorie and you get your salt fix. Also soup. Supposedly hot foods like soup help you feel fuller. A single serving of chicken and stars is only 70 calories. I also love the 100 calorie snack packs they sell at the grocery store. And Skinny Cow ice cream helps with the sweet tooth fix.
